International Conference – Description and Photo Gallery

The Sportism Final Conference “A Transdisciplinary Approach to the Application of Physical Activity in the Treatment and Inclusion of Children with Autism Meeting” took place in Novi Sad, Serbia, at OPENS headquarters on 24 October 2025.

The event opened with greetings and a welcome from Ida Kabok, PhD – President of the Milan Petrovic Sports Association, Violeta Strahinjević – Director of ESBS Milan Petrović (Serbia), and Neža Adamič, Association for Inclusive Culture, lead partner of the project (Slovenia).

The entire conference was moderated by Svetlana Kekić.

The first part of the conference saw the presentation of the international project “SPORTISM- from the basis to inclusion” by the representatives of the partners: Neža Adamič, M.Sc. – Association for Inclusive Culture – introduced the project by explaining where the idea for Sportism originated, what the main objectives were, and the actions taken. The other partners then presented the main results of Sportism in detail.

Prof. Daniela Tamaš, – ‘Milan Petrovic’ Sports Association (Serbia) – presented the video manual consisting of 200 exercises for balance and coordination, which can be found on our YouTube channel; Prof. Emeše Maniu – ACS Cory Francisc (Romania) described the training of volunteers, emphasising the importance and impact of volunteers in the project. Communication manager Simona Calabrò, Maendeleo for Children (Italy) illustrated the Sportism forum on the EAV Point platform and the project website, highlighting the long-term benefits for networking. Marko Brusač, M.Sc. – Centre for Autism Rijeka (Croatia) presented the results of the training in balance and coordination skills, monitoring progress and monitoring the challenges observed during the project; finally, Neža Adamič and Ajla Ceric from the Association for Inclusive Culture (Slovenia) introduced the E-Training Diary, demonstrating how the platform works and explaining its importance for monitoring individual development.

The second part of the conference focused on the Round Table entitled “Transdisciplinary approach to the application of physical activities in the treatment and inclusion of children with autism” and featured six speakers:

– Prof. Sanela Slavković, PhD – Department of Special Education and Rehabilitation, Faculty of Medicine, University of Novi Sad, Serbia

– Prof. Milan Cvetković, PhD – Faculty of Sport and Physical Education, University of Novi Sad, Serbia

– Prof. Daniela Tamaš, PhD – Department of Special Education and Rehabilitation, Faculty of Medicine, University of Novi Sad, Serbia

– Prof. Emeše Maniu, PhD – Department of Medical Rehabilitation, UMF Cluj Napoca, Romania

– Marko Brusač, M.Sc. – Autism Centre in Rijeka, Croatia

– Neža Adamič, M.Sc. – Association for Inclusive Culture, Slovenia.

The conference was a success in Serbia and online, with the entire event broadcast live on Sportism’s YouTube channel, reaching hundreds of people.
